St Lawrence College in Ramsgate entered administration on 8 April 2026 following a turbulent period of merger proposals, reversals and mounting financial pressures. The sudden closure affected hundreds of pupils, families and staff, and brought uncertainty to the future of the historic 146-year-old school.

The Save SLC Campaign Group has submitted a formal complaint to the Charity Commission raising concerns about governance, financial oversight and decision-making leading up to the collapse. The complaint calls for a full investigation into the events surrounding the closure and the management of the charity.
